Otsuka Pharmaceutical

DRI WANG, Pharm.D., BCPP

Dr. Dri Wang is a board-certified clinical psychiatric pharmacist currently serving as a CNS Medical Science Director with Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. Prior to joining the industry, she was the lead clinical psychiatric pharmacist for Alameda County Behavioral Health. Dr. Wang led the County-wide efforts in medication quality improvements and advocated shared decision-making in the care of behavioral health patients. Her shared decision-making tool has been professionally replicated and is now widely distributed to psychiatric care providers throughout the country. From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Wang created a system to track clients who are on psychiatric meds at high risk for metabolic dysfunction.  The data allows prioritization of these high-risk patients for referrals to primary care physicians. As a result of this system, the pharmacy team reviewed over 1000 unique “high-risk" clients via Medicaid claims and assisted in referring 43 clients to primary care. Her previous work also included outpatient psychiatric care of patients within a safety net clinic setting in Los Angeles’ Skid Row.  Lastly, Dr. Wang has served as adjunct faculty for both USC and UCSF School of Pharmacy.
