Dr. Elaine Nguyen obtained her Bachelor of Science at University of California, Irvine, Doctor of Pharmacy at Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona CA, and Master of Healthcare Administration at Oklahoma State University. She is currently working towards obtaining her Juris Doctor at Purdue University Global, Indiana.

Dr. Nguyen currently works for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as the Branch Director, where she serves as deputy to the Operations Section Chief supervising teams, and providing direction, guidance, and procedures. She also serves as the liaison between state and local agencies, volunteer groups, and FEMA employees.

Prior to joining FEMA, Dr. Nguyen served as the Assistant Dean of Experiential Education at the American University of Health Sciences, School of Pharmacy. Dr. Nguyen oversaw, designed, executed, and evaluated one-third of the curriculum. Her other duties include fostering the professional development of students and pharmacist preceptors, assessing and securing affiliation agreements while ensuring they align with the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education standards. Her work at the University led to full accreditation status for the Doctor of Pharmacy program.

Her previous work includes working as a clinical pharmacist in various settings including independent pharmacies, chain pharmacies, and free clinics.
